My name is josie Wales and I was street homeless for 2 years due to poor council accommodation which I ended up leaving and living on the streets. Casual minds matter helped me move into a flat in Burnley with yale housing and my life started again from that day.
I have a lovely home which they supported me to get so to give back i now volunteer as my way of thanking both services for what they have done for me. I can't thank them enough
Since working with Nurture Housing Association Ltd we have not only been able to grow massively as a CIC within the community in Burnley, but our ability to support the most disadvantaged people within it by providing affordable properties has had a huge impact. Alongside Yale we have supported individuals into safe sustainable homes where previously they were homeless and at risk.
Yale Housing Association Limited have also supported us financially by giving us the opportunity to manage and maintain properties allowing us to generate income to allow Casual Minds Matter CIC to continue to provide mental health support to the community where previously there was little support available.

I feel safe at my home, I have friends here and neighbours who we all look out for each other. I really enjoy living here. This is the first property that I have had on my own and I am now doing okay. I have made good friends here and I have never laughed so much. The HUB is brilliant, I have many friends here. I come to talk to my friends and like to have some food. I love doing the activities because it keeps me busy. My best activity to do in the HUB is card making with glitter and things to stick on. I spend a lot of my time here during the day. Your all brilliant, everyone has been really, really good to me and you are all wonderful. When things have been bad for me for example my brother passed away all the staff was amazing with me and helping me get through it.
From providing funding to assist our 'garden' area (on a roof) to the care, thought & attention they have shown in thouroughly inspecting and repairing flats left run down by a combination of inadequate repairs and maitenance by previous landlords/agents. Nurture Housing has even furnished out these flats to help new tenants move in easier.
